Mariam El Mofty is an Egyptian-Yemeni photographer based in London, with a background in
Political Science & Islamic Arts and Architecture, from the American University in Cairo.
Mofty has embarked on a professional career in photography in 2007. After a long journey of
Freelancing, exhibiting and assisting, she moved to the UK to polish her experience with Academia.
Mofty, finished Her Postgraduate Studies in Photography Practice from the London College of
Communication - University of the Arts London, in 2009; and completed a Masters in Photography
in 2010 at the University of West London.
Mofty is a passionate photographer, that is constantly inspired by her surroundings. Her work mainly
evolves around the meaning of ''portraiture'' in all its forms. She is also interested in contemporary
photography; she creates a lot of personal photographic work based on phases of her life, as she
Believes that photography is her door to understand life in general.
